All You Should Know About the Darth Revan Lightsaber Hilt

The Star Wars universe has no shortage of interesting and unique characters and lightsabers. One such character is the ancient Sith Lord known as Darth Revan. The character, who is well known for appearing in several Star Wars comics and the Star Wars game, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, has had a very interesting life story. He struggled with the Dark Side, and as his character continued to evolve, so did his lightsaber.

During the course of his lifetime, Darth Revan wielded lightsabers of different designs and blade colours, each one symbolising a different path taken by former Jedi turned Sith Lord. In this piece, we shall be looking at everything there is to know about the Darth Revan lightsaber hilts.

All The Lightsabers Used By Darth Revan

Throughout his lifetime, Darth Revan used different lightsabers. His first lightsaber was a blue-bladed lightsaber, which he constructed when he was still a Jedi Padawan. After he embraced the Dark Side, he constructed another lightsaber with a bled kyber crystal, which then gave the saber’s blade the characteristic red tinge associated with Sith lightsabers.

Following Malak’s betrayal, Revan was captured by the Jedi Council, who then wiped his memories of being a Sith and proceeded to retrain him as a Jedi. During this time, Revan constructed another lightsaber with a green blade.

After an encounter that led to Revan defeating his former friend, Malak, his memories of being a Sith started to resurface. He was eventually captured and put into stasis while on a mission to assassinate the Sith Emperor Vitiate. Revan remained in stasis for 300 years, and the torture he underwent during that time took a toll on his mental state and this eventually led to his lightsaber blade turning into a violet colour (a symbol of Revan’s constant struggle with the Dark Side).

All You Need to Know About Darth Revan’s Lightsaber Hilt

Darth Revan’s Sith Lightsaber Hilt

Darth Revan’s Sith lightsaber featured a single-blade attached to an alloy metal hilt of about 28 centimeters long. The hilt shape was cylindrical and slightly longer than the standard lightsaber hilt. It also featured a minimalistic design with a single control button placed at the center of the hilt. The base of its grip had a curved design that was quite distinctive, and the circular pommel was smooth with evenly placed ridges for a better grip.

In terms of colour, the lightsaber’s hilt was silver with a bronze-coloured area right at the top (just underneath the blade emitter). This bronze colour served as a nice contrast to the silver colour of the hilt.

Darth Revan’s Purple Lightsaber Hilt

The second lightsaber of Darth Revan was the purple saber he constructed during his retraining as a Jedi. The purple lightsaber also featured a single blade, but instead of a cylindrical-shaped hilt, it had a distinctive trident-shaped hilt. At 27 centimeters long, the hilt was slightly shorter than that of his Sith lightsaber. The alloy metal hilt also housed Revan’s green Kyber crystal, which had turned to purple (violet) as a result of his conflicting emotions with the Dark Side.

In terms of design, the saber’s hilt consisted of cylindrical rings that were uniformly placed with black inlays, which provided a nice contrast with its metallic build. The control panel was placed at the top portion of the hilt, and this gave off a simple yet futuristic look. The hilt’s bottom also featured a curved edge that allowed for a better grip, and the large pommel cap at the bottom was black and silver.

This type of attention to detail shows that Revan actually put a lot of thought into his lightsaber’s design before constructing it.

Conclusion

Darth Revan was an incredibly fascinating Star Wars character. The gifted and powerful ex-Jedi Knight/ex-Dark Lord of the Sith wielded different lightsabers during his lifetime, and above are everything you need to know about his lightsaber hilts.
